Who or what is The Divine SOphia?
I was sixteen the first time I heard the name Sophia. We were studying Greek mythology in school, and I learned that Sophia was the Goddess of wisdom. In that moment, something shifted inside me. It was like a breath and a lightning bolt all at once—something ancient stirred in my soul. I didn’t understand it then, but now I know: I was remembering.
That name--Sophia—followed me through life. Years later, in my corporate job, I used it as an alias on Facebook to protect my personal identity. Then again as a backup singer in an Afro-pop band, I used the name Tabitha Sophia for recordings. At the time, I didn’t fully understand why I was drawn to it—it just felt right.
Fast forward to the start of my coaching journey. I had paying clients but no business name. Nothing felt aligned. “Tabitha Danloe Coaching” didn’t fit, and I refused to name my practice something that lacked meaning. For months, I waited. And then—one day--Spirit whispered it to me:
The Divine Sophia.
I knew instantly it was right. Coaching, to me, is about guiding people back to their inner wisdom—not telling them what to do, but helping them hear their own answers. That wisdom? That knowing? That’s divine. That’s Sophia.
When I shared the name, people would often smirk and ask, “Oh… are you The Divine Sophia?”
And I would smile and say,
“No. We all are.”
But the story didn’t end there.
A few years later, I felt a strong intuitive pull to visit a specific bookstore in Sedona. I knew a book was waiting for me. I waited until the day felt right, and when I arrived, I searched and searched—but found nothing. Just as I was about to give up, my friend called my name. I turned to look at her, and just above her shoulder, on a high shelf, I saw it:
The Return of the Divine Sophia.
Another breath. Another lightning bolt.
That book would teach me what my soul already knew:
That in ancient Hebrew, Sophia means Holy Spirit.
That the Divine Feminine was erased from the Holy Trinity.
That the true trinity is Father, Son… and Mother.
I wept reading that book. I had grown up Catholic and still consider myself a nontraditional Christian with a side of woo.I’ve always loved the teachings of Jesus. But I couldn’t understand the hatred of women, the erasure, the imbalance. And suddenly… it all made sense.
Sophia is the missing piece.
She is Divine Wisdom.
She is the breath within us.
She is not a woman—she is an energy.
And so, The Divine Sophia is not just the name of my business.
It’s a living archetype.
A reminder that there is wisdom within every soul I work with.
A guide that shows me how to listen, so I can help others listen, too.
